89 Degrees East strengthens their team in Canberra with two new appointments

National data, strategy and delivery agency, 89 Degrees East, has boosted its policy and media capabilities by appointing healthcare expert, Leanne Wells, and veteran political journalist, Alison Carabine, as Director and Senior Consultant respectively.

Leanne brings more than 30 years of experience in health and social service strategy and policy, spanning the government and non-government sectors. She was previously CEO of the Consumers Health Forum of Australia.

Alison joins 89 Degrees East after a 30-year career in journalism, covering Victorian and Federal politics. She was the long serving Canberra Bureau Chief for the Fairfax Radio Network (2UE/3AW) in the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery, before working for more than a decade as Political Editor on the ABC’s flagship news and current affairs program, Radio National Breakfast.

Alister Jordan, CEO of 89 Degrees East, said the new appointments further strengthen the ability of 89 Degrees East to design, develop and deliver effective, strategic and impactful solutions for its clients.

“Leanne and Alison are both highly experienced, trusted professionals, with significant expert knowledge and strong relationships. We are delighted to welcome them both to the 89 Degrees East team,” Jordan said.
