What services does Estilo Media offer?
Estilo offers advertising strategy and media planning (including radio, TV and Billboards), digital media and marketing, public relations, content marketing, branding (including personal branding) and event management.

What size is Estilo Media?
Estilo currently has a team of 15.

Where does Estilo Media have an office?
Our office is located on Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

Do you have a particular area of focus?
Our expertise and track record spans across various industries. We serve clients / companies of all sizes, but we do specially target start-ups and SMEs where we can provide media and communications support to them by way of customising our services and price tag to their needs at various stages of their business.

Who is the founder and why did they start the agency?
Jasmine Cheung and Michelle Lee are the founders of Estilo Media. Having worked in the industry for more than a decade, they found that there was a market gap in the industry especially communications and media for start-ups and SMEs.

Hiring an experienced communications / PR professional may not be feasible for SMEs let alone hiring a team to cover the various areas / departments such as marketing, branding, communications, PR, design etc. Hence, the founders want to be able to provide a comprehensive one-stop solution for this segment where SME’s can avail of any of the above-mentioned services at favourable price points and at the same time getting the services / support from a full team that is working as part of their company. Secondly, while working as part as our client’s team we want to ensure that we provide a very close-knit and personal relation with the company so that we can deliver better value rather than just scratching the surface.

Tell us about the leadership team
The leadership team currently consists of the two co-founding partners who are fully hands-on in strategising with the team for their portfolio of clients.

Jasmine Cheung, who has 10 years of experience in the industry of public relations, investor relations, communications, and event management, brings along her expertise in handling public listed companies across industries - including personal image and brand development for executives.

Michelle Lee, brings 10 years of experience in the media and publication industry, and is skilled in media planning, strategic partnerships and marketing strategy. Michelle also has experience in event management and relationship management.

In a sentence, describe your ideal relationship with a journalist.
Our ideal relationship with the media is to build a level partnership of trust, where we get to clearly understand their approach and interest and especially how they work. When we understand each other’s work culture, philosophy and requirements, it eases the work processes and relationship. Also be honest and stay real, as it will ultimately build a strong and trusted working relationship for both the media and the company for example Estilo. It’s always a team effort.

Any key PR trends your agency is keeping an eye on?
We are always observing digital behaviours and voice media as these are the biggest platforms out there at the moment, which are highly driven by generation shifts. Unlike times before, consumer behaviour and specific brand purpose comes hand in hand at all times, and this changes very fast as well. How brands communicate - use of language, messaging and core values are more important than ever so we are constantly keeping an eye out on the core values and trend of the general public and consumers for each brand and business that we manage.

What skillsets do you look for in new hires?
People, social and communication skills are important, but more importantly is an individual’s attitude towards their work, working environment and colleagues; and also, their willingness to learn, to keep growing and working as a team.
