What services does The PR People offer?
Full PR services, event organisation and management, marketing consultancy, and content creation.

How big are you
We currently have a team of 14 in Singapore and 6 in Malaysia, and view ourselves as a boutique agency. We work with approximately 30 clients at any given time, many for 5 or more years.

Where does your agency have offices?
Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

Do you have a particular area of focus? 
Beauty and lifestyle.

Who is the founder and why did they start the agency?
Diana Ong, our Founder and Managing Director, started the agency after leaving her role as a Beauty Editor at SPH Magazines as she saw a gap in communications between brands and journalists and strived to bridge it with her editorial expertise, and story angling and development. These are skills she has developed from over 10 years working as a journalist at Singapore’s top media companies, such as SPH, MediaCorp, and the now-defunct ACP Magazines. 

What is next for The PR People? What is the five year goal?
Next for us is currently: to deliver great results and maintain our long relationships. PR has always been a long game, and requires an adequate runway, as the best results come from working in partnership over the long term. If we can maintain this type of relationship with our brands, we will continue to be exactly where we want to be.

In a sentence, describe your ideal relationship with a journalist.
One based on trust, clear communication, and mutual respect for each other’s professionalism.

Tell us about a campaign you are currently working on or are particularly proud of. 
As a whole, we are most proud of our work for Sephora in both Singapore and Malaysia. As this beauty authority has worked with us for many years, we continue to see the value of long-term relationships and the translation of that relationship to stronger-than-average PR results. We are also very proud of our work for Singapore-born brands such as IDS, Porcelain and Miriqa.

Any key PR trends your agency is keeping an eye on? 
The rise of new platforms such as Tik Tok and Clubhouse are intriguing, and we are constantly reviewing potential commercial opportunities for our clients. Additionally, we continue to watch technology trends to find ways to adopt them into our service offerings and events.

What skill sets do you look for in new hires? 
Integrity first, good interpersonal skills and writing skills, confidence and willingness to try new things.
