Bauer Media Australia and NZ sold to Mercury Capital
The magazine and digital publisher Bauer Media Australia will be acquired by private equity firm Mercury Capital, pending regulatory approval. The publisher which recently acquired Pacific Magazines, publishes titles including The Australian Women's Weekly, Better Homes and Gardens, New Idea, Woman's Day, ELLE Australia and marie claire Australia.
The acquisition is due to be completed end of July 2020.
A statement from Bauer Media also confirmed that the agreement includes Bauer’s New Zealand mastheads.
Mercury Capital also owns BlueStar, a printing group in New Zealand which printed most of Bauer Media's New Zealand magazines until they were shuttered in April 2020.
Bauer Media Group acquired what at the time was called ACP from Nine Entertainment in October 2012. At that point Nine Entertainment was owned by CVC.
