Karen Brown will become the new Board Chair of Perth-based strategic communications agency, Cannings Purple, on 1^st February 2022 when current Chair, Warrick Hazeldine, steps down. Currently National Director, Karen has been with Cannings Purple for seven years, and is set to retire at the end of this year.

Warrick has decided to step down as Chair of the firm he co-founded to focus on his portfolio of directorships and his private equity advisory service. He will remain on the Board as a Non-executive Director. Joining him as a Non-executive Director in the new year will be Jamie Wilkinson, currently an Executive Director of the firm.

The agency has also announced a number of new executive appointments:

• Jo Monery has joined the Corporate Affairs team as a Director. She recently returned to Perth from the UK, where she was Managing Director, Corporate and Technology at Red Consultancy in London.
• Anna Gillett has returned from a decade in Melbourne to join the firm's Stakeholder Engagement team as Director. She was previously a Principal Consultant and led the crisis practice at Bastion Reputation Management. Prior to this, she was Head of Corporate Communication and Head of Government and Stakeholder Engagement for Melbourne and Launceston airports.
• Corporate Affairs Director, Fran Lawrence, has been promoted to a Special Counsel role, overseeing the firm's portfolio of property sector clients.
• Carina Tan-Van Baren takes over from Fran as Director of the agency's Corporate Affairs team.
