Financial services and technology communications agency, Cognito, is celebrating 10 years in APAC with the opening of a new Sydney office, its third in the region. Scott Schuberg will lead the office as Managing Director, Australia, reporting in to APAC Managing Director, Darrell Wright.

The company said the decision to expand into Australia was driven by the continued growth of Australia's financial services sector, already disproportionately large for the population, which has pushed the development of the local fintech and professional services sectors.

Cognito identified several themes that are providing both opportunities and challenges for Australian firms, including ESG policy and practice communications, changing frameworks for financial advice and broking, greater scrutiny of active funds management returns, the digitisation of assets and banking infrastructure, and geopolitical ripples that are pushing greater Australian GDP diversification.

The Sydney office will tap into the expertise and connections of Cognito's other APAC offices in Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as those in London, New York and Amsterdam.
