On 7^th February, Hon Kris Faafoi, Minister of Broadcasting, Communications and Digital Media, announced that a business case to assess the viability of a new, not-for-profit media entity is being prepared. The business case is set to go in front of Cabinet within the next six months. The Minister confirmed the new entity would operate alongside NZ on Air, and in place of TVNZ and Radio New Zealand, creating a combined radio and television broadcaster.
