Hires at Guardian Australia

Following the announcement of Guardian Australia's expansion of state news coverage across New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria, the publication has announced the following upcoming changes to its editorial team:
  • Conal Hanna will lead the company's expansion as Associate Editor (State News). He is responsible for establishing and editing the three new containers across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
  • Ben Smee will start a new role as Queensland State Correspondent. 
  • Benita Kolovos will be the title's Victorian State Correspondent. 
  • Michael McGowan has been appointed NSW State Correspondent. 
  • The Victoria State Reporter vacancy has been filled by Adeshola Ore. 
  • Tamsin Rose will join as the NSW State Reporter. 
Guardian Australia will soon appoint two political and general reporters for the Queensland reporting team.
