HKU's PSLB project holds Knowledge Primer event on the MICE industry

The Partnership for Sustainability Leadership in Business project is holding its seventh Knowledge Primer event, “Enabling the Ecosystem for Resource Circularity in the MICE Industry” on 6th June 2024. The event was initiated by the Centre for Civil Society and Governance of the University of Hong Kong and with full support from The Hongkong Bank Foundation.

Supported by Telum Media, it will feature speakers from the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) industry and will look at how to make business events more sustainable by introducing resource circularity. Keynote sessions include:
  • Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau: the role of government policy, infrastructures and capacity building in guiding the trajectory of circularity and sustainability advancement in the MICE industry.
  • Macau Fair & Trade Association: sustainable initiatives that incentivise practitioners to adopt more circular and sustainable practices to achieve net-zero goals.
A moderated discussion featuring industry practitioners from the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management), Informa Markets, KPMG, New World Corporate Services and ReThink Hong Kong will follow. Panellists will shed light on best practices and the collaboration needed to catalyse circularity practices and innovation in the MICE industry.

The event will also celebrate the launch of “A Practical Guidebook to Circular Economy (Volume 2): Collaborating with Value Chain Partners for Organising Circular Events and Exhibitions”, which is a consolidated self-learning resource for MICE industry practitioners to integrate resource circularity principles into business operations.
