Junkee Media sold to RACAT Group

Junkee Media sold to RACAT Group

oOh!media has confirmed that its digital youth publishing business, Junkee Media, has been acquired by RACAT Group. Junkee will join RACAT's stable of publishing and production assets including Australian Geographic, Northern Pictures and publisher Runaway Play. The commercial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Following the completion of the sale, Junkee's editorial, sales and implementation teams will be housed under RACAT Group and headed up by Piers Grove, the current Publisher of The Betoota Advocate. oOh!media will retain Junkee's branded content and production arm, Junkee Studio, which will be relaunched in early 2022.

oOh!media first announced plans to sell Junkee in July this year as part of a broader strategy to focus more on its outdoor advertising business.
