One of the oldest journalist clubs in the country, the National Press Club (NPC) has partnered with QI Group to organise an inter-media bowling championship with the aim to promote good journalism and comradeship among the journalists in the country. “The bowling event marks a comeback for NPC after two years of ‘hibernation’ and serves the purpose of gathering the media practitioners nationwide,” said NPC President, Datuk Ahirudin Attan, fondly known as Datuk Rocky Bru at a press conference.

On 14th May, 10 teams will participate in the bowling tournament at Sunway Pyramid including PETRA News, Media Prima’s TV3, BERNAMA, TwentyTwo13, New Straits Times, NPC, representatives from Sabah Journalist Association (SJA), Asia News, and Penang Press Club. Eight teams of sponsors and specially invited Telum Media will also participate in the bowling tournament.

The top three teams will stand a chance to win cash prizes of RM1,200, RM800, and RM400, while the top two teams will represent the club at media games against SJA in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
