Penta welcomes former Irish PM as Global Advisor
Penta Group has announced the appointment of former Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister of Ireland) Leo Varadkar to its Global Advisory Board. He will officially join the firm on 10th April 2025.
As a two-term Taoiseach from 2017 to 2020 and 2022 to 2024, Leo spearheaded policy reforms and crisis management efforts that have shaped Ireland’s global standing, including securing the 2019 Brexit Withdrawal Agreement. Domestically, he led reforms, including referendums legalising same-sex marriage and repealing abortion restrictions, as well as managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Leo has also held ministerial positions across multiple sectors, including transport, tourism and sport; health; social protection; and enterprise, trade and employment, as well as serving as Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister).
"We are thrilled to welcome Leo Varadkar to our team," said Matt McDonald, CEO of Penta Group. "His deep commitment to evidence-based policymaking and strategic leadership aligns seamlessly with Penta’s mission. His experience at the highest levels of government will enhance our ability to provide data-driven advice and solutions to help clients navigate today’s increasingly complex global environment."
"In today’s rapidly evolving world, integrating data and evidence into decision-making is more critical than ever," added Leo. "... I look forward to contributing to its innovative approach in helping global organisations navigate complexity with confidence."
