This week is Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week), an annual celebration held across the country to celebrate and promote the revitalisation te reo Māori. The event was first established in 1975 to commemorate the presentation of the Māori Language Petition to parliament on  14th September 1972.

To understand what communications and PR professionals can do to respect te reo and Māori traditions in their work, Telum spoke to Neil Waka, a Broadcaster / Reporter at Whakaata Māori.
