A spokesperson from Discovery has confirmed that Newshub will close its Dunedin newsroom. The news follows a restructure of Discovery's business across Australia and New Zealand. The newsroom's closure date is yet to be confirmed.

The Dunedin newsroom consists of Reporter Dave Goosselink and Camera Operator Grant Findlay. The company spokesperson said Discovery remains committed to regional news and will continue to cover this region comprehensively. They continued, "Our focus remains the same, delivering best-in-class news to Kiwis".
