By way of Introduction:
My name is Ria de Borja and I am the President of a content marketing and copywriting company called RDB Media. I lived in the US for five years and in Paris for eight years and have an MBA from ESSEC Business School (France). I am based in Manila, Philippines.

With over a decade of experience in content marketing and creative copywriting, RDB Media does website copy, blogs, social media copy, white papers, manuals, business reports, books, press releases and editorial content for international and local companies. Past clients include Louis Vuitton Paris, Les Roches Shanghai, DrCom Singapore, Edukasyon.ph, Delbros Group and The Good Alchemist. We make dedicated efforts toward building positive relationships while authoring content, and developing content marketing strategies.

First job:
I was as a sales assistant at a men’s magazine in New York City.

One thing you would change about communications industry:
I feel that writers are often exploited. The rates for writers should be higher, if not standardised. Many international companies outsource writers in the Philippines due to cheap labour but writing is as professional a job as any other. As there is no standardisation of rates in the industry, many writers in the Philippines work for less than they should, i.e. not commensurate to their experience, talent and expertise.
