[Telum News Watch] Sustainable fashion

Telum News Watch is a series of bite-sized interviews with journalists about the latest news that they have been covering.

It is no secret that the fashion industry and other brands are jumping on the sustainability trend. In light of this year's Earth Day, Telum Media spoke to Amanda Chai, Journalist from The Straits Times Life, about what Earth Day means to her as a journalist and her views on sustainable fashion. Some highlights include:

- Media outlets play an important role in helping to educate and nudge people in the right direction when it comes to being discerning about fashion. (1:19)
- Revamping the supply chain is more meaningful and impactful in the long term than just putting out a "sustainable collection". (2:20)
- More education on areas such as choosing better fabrics and the life cycle of a product is a step in the right direction for sustainable fashion. (2:47)
