The WSJ restructures China operations (Beijing / New York)

The Wall Street Journal (The WSJ) announced a new structure for China operations led by China Bureau Chief Jonathan Cheng with three Deputy Bureau Chiefs. More details below:

Yoko Kubota 
Yoko Kubota is Deputy Bureau Chief, based in Beijing and overseeing corporate coverage. When Yoko returns from maternity leave, she and her team will work closely with Asia Business Editor Neil Western and his team in Hong Kong.

Josh Chin
Josh Chin is Deputy Bureau Chief in charge of general news in mainland China and Taiwan. Josh works with Asia World News Editor Brendan Moran and the scattered team of China reporters.

Sofia McFarland
Sofia McFarland is Deputy Bureau Chief, based in New York and charged with coordinating the China-focused reporters in the US as well as the coverage of the rapidly evolving Beijing-Washington relationship. 

Jeremy Page
Jeremy Page is now Senior China Correspondent. Based in Beijing, he leads the journal's coverage of Chinese geopolitics and diplomacy. Jeremy was previously China Political and Diplomatic Editor.

Wei Lingling
Wei Lingling is Senior China Correspondent. Based in New York, she leads the journal's coverage of Chinese economic policy and trade, in particular its commercial and trade ties to the US. Lingling was previously based in Beijing. 

Kersten Zhang
After spending two decades with The WSJ as Researcher, Kersten Zhang has retired.
