WIN Network's statewide bulletins to commence in July

The WIN Network has announced it will introduce statewide news bulletins, airing at 5.30pm from 1st July. National Nine news will follow at 6pm, and then A Current Affair from 7pm. Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales will each broadcast a half-hour statewide news programme, which will replace local bulletins. The change follows the announcement earlier this year that WIN Network and Nine Entertainment Co. had signed a new regional television affiliation agreement.

The new statewide bulletins mean WIN Network will reach new regions across the country. These include Mackay, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay in Queensland, Orange, Wagga Wagga and Griffith in New South Wales, and Albury Wodonga in Victoria. WIN Network will employ new local news-gathering staff in these areas, though the change will also lead to a reduction of staff in other areas of Queensland, Victoria and Wollongong. The company has confirmed it will attempt to redeploy, second, or retrain impacted employees.

WIN Network's news offerings in Wollongong, Canberra, and Tasmania will continue to air in their current formats.
