New Australia and Pacific Correspondent at the Financial Times

Nic Fildes, the London-based global Telecoms Correspondent, who has also covered the music and technology industries, will relocate to Sydney later this year to become Australia and Pacific Correspondent for the Financial Times. Nic is returning to his native Australia after 22 years in the UK. 

Current Australia and Pacific Correspondent, Jamie Smyth, will be departing Australia later this month (lockdowns dependent). He will be taking up a new role at the Financial Times as US Pharmaceutical Correspondent, based in New York. Jamie has worked for the masthead in Australia since 2014 and prior to this, was its Ireland Correspondent.
