Telum Talks To... Eileen Yu, Freelance Enterprise Technology Journalist

By Sam Jo Yeo

Having covered the IT scene since 1998, Freelance Enterprise Technology Journalist Eileen Yu is no stranger to change. She recalls the days when Y2K was the bogeyman, e-commerce was the new buzzword and Facebook was the new kid on the block.

Fast-forward to 2021 where blockchain and digital banks are all the rage. Eileen tells Telum Media why enterprise security and data privacy still have a long way to go, especially when it comes to app permissions and companies collecting customer data.

Eileen also shares what she believes Asia-Pacific readers crave the most when it comes to fintech, useful tips on how journalists can brush up on unfamiliar topics, and advice for PR professionals to better tailor their pitches.
