Jean Iau is a Journalist who covers crime and courts for The Straits Times. She was recently named Young Journalist of the Year at SPH Media Trust's annual journalism awards (English/Malay/Tamil Media Group).

We sit down with the award-winning reporter to find out how she approaches crime events and newsmakers sensitively, as well as how she copes with second-hand grief on the job.

Jean also talks about her role models in the newsroom and shares how PR practitioners can work with her on crime and legislation-related stories.
