Publication Profile: HungryGoWhere

1. Tell us more about HungryGoWhere - what does it aim to achieve and what makes your publication different from others in the food and drinks industry?
If you love food and drinks (who doesn’t?), chances are, you would have heard of HungryGoWhere - a pioneering F&B news website in Singapore. Grab, Southeast Asia’s super-app, relaunched it in June 2022 with a fresh look, and an all-new editorial team and direction.

We aim to not only be the go-to food website in Singapore, but also a platform for F&B businesses to raise their visibility. We set ourselves apart from other publications by diving deep into the personalities dishing up your favourite meal, spotlighting the origins of popular foods that are not often given enough attention, and leveraging insights from Grab’s super-app data to shape our content.

2. What sort of content do you publish and what are the different series your team is working on?
We publish a broad range of content. On our website, we have food news articles and features, personality interviews, food explainers, guides as well as reviews. We also publish highly engaging video content and run giveaways as well as collabs with F&B partners on our social media channels.

We have three signature series running right now. My Must-Eats features Singapore’s public figures - from politicians to sportspeople and celebrities - and their favourite food haunts, while 20 Questions sees our team sitting down with the who’s who of F&B. Finally, we have From Scratch, which explores the origins of popular foods in Singapore and the work that goes into making them.

3. Who is HungryGoWhere’s target audience?
An appetite for good food transcends the bounds of age. That said, HungryGoWhere has built a strong base among readers over the age of 35, so we hope to increase our relevance with under-35s.

4. What kind of image do you want your readers to have of HungryGoWhere?
We want to be your go-to guide to all things food in Singapore. We aim to be trendy, approachable and at the forefront of the latest goings-on in the industry, with a focus on solid reporting and good writing. Whenever you are searching for food, we want you to think of us!

5. What key trends or sectors are you following at the moment?
Since our relaunch, we’ve been seeing a steady uptick in new, compelling F&B brands and concepts setting up in Singapore as the dining scene roars back to life amid a receding pandemic. It’s an exciting space to watch, and we’re privileged to be covering it.

6. Are there any exciting plans in 2023 that readers can anticipate?
We are ramping up our video coverage to cater to those who love visually engaging food content. Food is, after all, a feast for the eyes and stomach! You can find our video content on all our social media channels.

There are also plans to start a series spotlighting young hawkers and make our content more visible to readers via the Grab app, so stay tuned!

7. Are there any PR pitches you’d like to receive more or less of? How can PRs work with HungryGoWhere?
With some Singaporeans already tightening their purse strings amid a depressed economic environment, we welcome more pitches on cheap eats and wallet-friendly eateries. We would also love to explore exclusive news features with eateries, particularly those with fresh, compelling concepts. Feel free to send your pitches and press releases to [email protected] or hit us up for coffee!
