WPP merges BCW and H&K, to become Burson

WPP has announced the merger of Hill & Knowlton and BCW to create Burson, a full-service communications agency focused on building and protecting reputation. Burson will be in operation by 1st July 2024.

Corey duBrowa, the current Global CEO of BCW, has been named Global CEO of Burson and AnnaMaria DeSalva, Hill & Knowlton's Global Chairman and CEO, has been named Burson's Global Chairman. They will oversee the merged firm's strategy, client service, employee experience and culture. More leadership appointments and branding news will be announced throughout 2024 as the integration progresses.

This merger will bring together more than 6,000 employees in 43 global markets. Hill & Knowlton will operate within Burson to provide strategic communications, advisory and public affairs offerings. 

GCI Health and AxiCom will also continue to operate as brands within Burson, offering specialised healthcare and technology communications expertise, respectively.
