We are looking for a Deputy Regional Editor based in regional Victoria to oversee regional editorial, management and organisational functions in line with ABC strategy to support the achievement of ABC News’ objectives.
The Job
In this role you will:
- Provide senior editorial leadership and judgement across all platforms for regional content to ensure the highest editorial standards are met in accordance with ABC Editorial Policies.
- Monitor and sustain editorial controls to ensure Regional content is aligned with ABC News’ strategy and objectives, as well as audience and community expectations.
- Collaborate with Editors to drive, develop and implement content strategies and initiatives that align with ABC strategy and supports the achievement of News’ objectives.
- Provide highly specialised feedback, support and leadership to the Editors and statewide radio programming teams to foster a culture of high-performance.
- Build a capable, motivated and skilled workforce by identifying learning and development needs of regional staff.
About You
You are an experienced leader with highly developed editorial skills, a passion for regional storytelling and a deep understanding of what matters to audiences.
You'll have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or significant equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience working in a media organisation.
- A proven track record at a senior level in content planning, development, production and delivery.
- Outstanding editorial skills and the ability to exercise reliable judgement under pressure.
- Highly developed relationship management skills, with experience in negotiating, influencing, and liaising with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
- Significant experience in leading teams, developing talent, and driving a high-performance culture.
- Demonstrated highly developed organisational, planning and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise and problem solve.
