About Us

SPH Media’s mission is to be the trusted source of news and lifestyle content in Singapore and Asia. One of our core purposes is to produce credible, balanced, and objective news and analysis, always with a view to uphold the public good and fostering an informed, engaged citizenry.

We welcome talented individuals to join us and grow a career in a vibrant and collaborative environment built around a culture of respect and inclusivity.

As an employer, we are committed to rewarding our people fairly and developing them in their careers.

About the Role

SPH Media's Content Lab is looking for a Content Marketing Assistant Editor (Chinese language) to join our award-winning content marketing team on a 1 - year contract.

This is a role for an experienced editor who understands both journalism and branded content. Working across SPH Media's trusted news and lifestyle titles, you will help create editorial-quality content that informs, engages and delivers value to audiences while meeting clients' communications objectives.

You should have a strong news sense, a keen understanding of current affairs and the ability to identify compelling story angles. Just as importantly, you should be comfortable shaping content across multiple platforms and formats, from long-form features and explainers to social content, video scripts and multimedia storytelling.

The ideal candidate is an excellent editor, a strong project manager and a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage content projects and campaigns from brief to publication, working closely with editors, writers, designers, producers and freelance contributors.
• Edit and commission high-quality content that is engaging, accurate and tailored to different audiences, platforms and objectives.
• Develop story angles and content concepts that combine strong editorial storytelling with client goals.
• Create and oversee content across multiple formats, including print, digital, social, video, audio and interactive experiences.
• Collaborate with sales, creative, product and technology teams to deliver effective content solutions.
• Use audience insights, SEO best practices and performance data to optimise content and identify opportunities.
• Exercise sound editorial judgment and maintain awareness of political, business, social and legal sensitivities.
• Ensure all content meets editorial standards, house style requirements and client briefs.
• Uphold media law, copyright requirements and ethical publishing standards.

Who we are looking for

• At least five years of experience in journalism, content marketing, publishing or a related editorial field.
• Strong news instincts and a solid understanding of current affairs.
• Excellent command of written Chinese. Proficiency in English is an advantage.
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms.
• Experience producing or overseeing content across digital, print and social channels.
• Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail and understanding of media law, copyright and defamation considerations.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Calm under pressure and able to maintain high editorial standards in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, resourceful and solutions-oriented, with a willingness to take ownership of projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Familiarity with content management systems such as CUE and WordPress is an advantage.
