The Business Times (BT) now has a new team dedicated to covering environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG).

Led by Deputy News Editor Joan Ng, the team also comprises Senior Correspondents Michelle Quah and Kenneth Lim, as well as ESG Correspondents Wong Pei Ting and Janice Lim.

These five journalists will spearhead BT's ongoing ESG coverage, which spans areas such as green finance, green tech, labour rights, diversity and inclusion, and sustainability disclosure and standards.

BT Editor Wong Wei Kong said: "BT has long provided coverage of ESG-related issues to serve readers’ needs, especially with its longstanding expertise on corporate governance."

"The strengthened coverage reflects BT’s priorities and ongoing mission to stay relevant to its users. We hope to focus our efforts on these important issues and rapidly grow in both breadth and depth over the next several months," he added.

To further boost its ESG reportage, BT is also gathering audience feedback via a public survey, and will be launching an ESG newsletter by this June.
