SMH and The Age to move Asian bureaus to Singapore

The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age will move its China and Indonesia bureaus to Singapore from February 2021. Eryk Bagshaw (currently based in Canberra) will move to Singapore, and a yet-to-be-announced correspondent will join him, replacing James Massola (currently in Indonesia), who will be returning to Canberra.

The Singapore bureau will cover all of Asia for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. However, once conditions allow, a bureau is likely to be reopened in China.
