Tell us about the Founder and the inspiration behind Affluence PR. 
Angela Sim founded Affluence PR in Singapore and has since expanded its presence throughout Asia. She refers to herself as an "incidental entrepreneur" because she had never imagined herself running an agency before, let alone own one. When Angela was 28, she worked for Oregon Scientific SEA in a team of three staff members, helping to build business for the brand. She was in charge of brand development and creating awareness around the company and says the experience prompted her to assess her career options and eventually establish Affluence PR.

Affluence PR offers comprehensive PR packages that provide end-to end solutions for all PR, social media and influencer marketing concerns. Our services include:

What size is your agency?
We have been in the business of marketing for SMEs for more than 15 years. With a team of 25 dedicated marketing professionals across Asia, we have served more than 600 clients around the world with thoughtful and effective marketing to garner brand awareness, brand engagement and eventually sales for our clients.

Where in Singapore is Affluence PR located?
Affluence PR operates from the Singapore HQ in Raffles Place, but also has satellite offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and partner agency offices in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and India. The pandemic reinforced the importance of hybrid work infrastructure, a concept Affluence PR introduced as early as 2012. Our teams work in a cloud office setup which allows us to seamlessly serve clients across different time zones across the globe.

Do you have a particular area of focus?
Affluence PR focuses on media relationship management and brand awareness generation for lifestyle brands looking to boost their engagement with customers. We specialise in public relations for Asian deluxe retail establishments. This encompasses trademark stores, luxury couture, flagship retail shops, themed dinners or restaurants, mid to fine dining establishments, and bistros or bars. 

What is next for Affluence PR? What is the five-year goal?
In the next five years, we look forward to levelling-up the agency with a few more divisions focused on specific industry sectors.

A collaborative partnership in which both parties gain from one another.

Any key PR trends your agency is keeping an eye on?
Clients are more ROI driven and want to see more return for the money they invest in marketing. Also, they are more digital savvy and have increased their demand for digital marketing and tracking. With this, we might be focusing on the integration of PR and marketing to create cohesive and integrated campaigns.

What skill sets do you look for in new hires?
We are looking for passionate, dynamic, resilient, and resourceful professionals who enjoy making a difference.
