Convergence Communications consolidates Auckland presence with Trio acquisition

Convergence Communications & Marketing has acquired most of the client book of a long-established Auckland PR firm, Trio Communications.

Trio Communications was founded in 2002 by Felicity Anderson following a long career in journalism. Her prior media roles included Chief Reporter of The National Business Review and Business Producer of TVNZ’s former site nzoom.com. Felicity was later joined in the business by Brenda Saunders, who retired in 2022.

Convergence Managing Partner, Leigh Harris, said the chance to acquire most of Trio's client book was an opportunity too good to pass up: "We’ve worked with Auckland clients for nearly two decades so the opportunity to really consolidate our presence there was an easy decision.”

Convergence now has offices in both the North and South Islands, with consultants located in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.
