Visit Sunshine Coast has appointed Maddy Schilg to the position of Public Relations Manager, replacing Lauren Grounsell, who has gone on maternity leave and will return later next year in a newly created marketing role as Brand & Content Manager. In her new role, Maddy will work closely with travel media in Queensland and across Australia, as well as produce content to promote the destination.

Maddy joins with extensive destination travel media experience, having recently returned to Australia after a five-year stint in London. Her previous experience includes public relations roles at a range of agencies, including One Green Bean in London, where she worked on accounts including Tourism Australia, Qatar Tourism, TUI and dnata’s Gold Medal and Travel2 brands.

On the appointment, Visit Sunshine Coast's CEO Matt Stoeckel said: "With so much to promote here on the Sunshine Coast, public relations plays a crucial role in our operations and we’re excited to welcome Maddy to the VSC family."
