Job description

Law.asia, a thriving legal publisher based in Hong Kong with market-leading digital platforms and print publications focusing on Asia, is seeking an Associate Editor for its India-focused title, India Business Law Journal.

The role requires writing, editing and commissioning original news stories and feature articles, coordinating with external contributors, managing the production process, liaising with general counsel and regulators and building a strong network of connections with India-focused legal and business professionals. It is an ideal position for applicants looking to build a career in multimedia business / legal journalism, particularly those with an existing interest in India.

The position is based in Hong Kong, but some travel to India and other countries may be required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s / Master's degree in journalism or an associated field
  • 1 - 2 years of work experience as a journalist or editor with a business news publication or similar
  • Must be able to legally work in Hong Kong or be eligible for an IANG visa
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
  • A flair for writing and the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely
  • Meticulous editing skills and a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • A demonstrable knowledge of - and interest in - business and legal issues in India
  • The capacity to generate timely, relevant and innovative story ideas
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • The ability to cultivate personal relationships with our readers and contributors and create a strong presence in the market
