Job description

Our client is a Singapore headquartered and listed company, and a leading producer of a widely used raw material around the globe. They have plantations in Indonesia and a large part of its business is working closely with farmers to drive sustainable farming.

Their agribusiness spans the entire seed-to-shelf food chain and to do so responsibly and sustainably, they uphold themselves and their partners in the ecosystem against high standards guided by a social and environment policy.

This role is based in Jakarta Indonesia and will cover both external and internal communications. In this leadership role, you will need to possess a natural ability to quickly establish rapport with stakeholders across various markets, business functions and the external ecosystem.

This is an exciting role where you will get amazing exposure through working with senior executives and also teams based in Singapore, Indonesia, Europe and Latin America.

Key requirements:
  • At least 12 years of Corporate Communications experience, with some from relevant / adjacent industries such as agriculture, palm oil, food manufacturing and production etc.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Must have issues / crisis communications experience.
  • Strong media relations with regional and Indonesia-based media outlets.
  • Have team / people management experience to guide a team and agency partners(s).
  • Have an international outlook while being culturally sensitive to navigate nuances working with teams in Indonesia, Europe, Latin America, Singapore etc.
  • Natural storyteller who is good at connecting dots and weaving compelling stories.
  • Familiar in using various social media platforms to reach target audience.
  • Experienced in advisory to senior executives and stakeholders, and familiar with executive profiling.
  • A self-motivated individual who is confident, articulate, collaborative and takes ownership.
  • Willingness to do business travel. Approximately twice per quarter either within Indonesia or to Singapore.
