Job Title: Public Relations Assistant Manager

Singapore-headquartered APRW, is seeking a skilled Public Relations Assistant manager to lead our public relations team in Jakarta, Indonesia.

We are looking for professionals with experience in both public relations and team management who can develop and maintain and build important relationships with media professionals, lead our clients and team in Indonesia, assist the Director in business development initiatives, and more.

Our preferred candidate needs to be equipped with great communication skills, client servicing experience, a sound understanding of Indonesia’s media landscape and experience in driving nationwide campaigns.

Job Description
Responsibilities

1. Client Services
  • Have experience in managing multiple clients focused on nation-wide communication strategies (strategy + execution)
  • Have experience in working across multiple sectors (tech, startup, consumer, B2B)
2. Media Relations
  • Have a thorough understanding of media requirements and build strong relationships with media contacts.
  • Serve as a liaison between the organisation and media representatives, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Pitch stories, set up interviews, and coordinate media appearances to get positive coverage.
3. Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate with the public relations team to provide support and contribute to team goals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to generate ideas, develop strategies, and carry out nationwide campaigns successfully
4. Media Coverage Analysis
  • Analyse all media coverage for any client campaign to determine reach, sentiment, and effectiveness.
  • Prepare appropriate responses to media coverage, such as press releases, statements, or social media posts, as needed.
5. Event Planning and Coordination
  • Represent APRW at press conferences, industry events, media interviews, and other public gatherings.
  • Assist in planning and organizing events, press conferences, and product launches.
  • Coordinate logistics, media invitations, and on-site support.
6. Crisis Management (if required)
  • Assist in developing crisis communication plans.
  • Provide support during crisis situations, including drafting statements and managing media inquiries.
7. Administrative Tasks (if any)

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
­Requirements
  • Living in Jakarta, Indonesia with full working rights.
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field (not compulsory)
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in public relations or communications roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (English and Indonesian)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish connections with media contacts.
  • Capability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of crisis communication principles and practices is beneficial.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work ethics.
  • Demonstrate high motivation and initiative.
  • Thorough knowledge of current industry trends.
