Australian Associated Press (AAP) will receive AU$15 million in funding, as part of the Federal Government's 2021 Budget. The funding will be delivered in two packages of AU$7.5 million, spread over two years. AAP, a not-for-profit organisation, is owned by a consortium of impact investors and philanthropists, and had been close to ceasing operations in early 2020. CEO Emma Cowdroy said the new grant would, "help underpin the AAP newswire on its path to sustainability".
