Interview
Telum Talks To... Howie Severino, Host, i-Witness (GMA Network)
By George Putong
We interview Howie Severino, one of the Philippines' most respected veteran journalists, on what helped him survive COVID-19 at the onset of the pandemic. He also shares with us the joy of training the next generations of journalists complete with tips for those pursuing the love for truth.
“What I realised was... producing a documentary was part of my cure,” Howie shares on what helped serve as a distraction from his condition. “When my nurse told me that he was familiar with my work, he said that someone should do a documentary about life in a public hospital, about the lives of front liners. I told him, 'I'll need your help'. You have motivation. You have access. I could teach you the rest.”
