ABC's new RN Drive host and other line-up changes
Andy takes over RN Drive from Patricia Karvelas, who was previously announced as the new Host of RN Breakfast for 2022. He begins his new role on 24th January.
The ABC has also confirmed some further changes to RN programming for 2022:
- Between the Lines, hosted by Tom Switzer, will be expanded from half an hour to an hour to showcase more Australian and international guests.
- The Bookshelf, currently airing on Fridays at noon, will move to a new timeslot on Saturday mornings. Kate Evans and Cassie McCullagh will continue to discuss the latest in fiction with guest authors and literary experts.
- Indigenous affairs programme, Speaking Out, will move from its Friday evening timeslot to air earlier in the day, at noon. The show covers politics, arts and culture from a range of Indigenous perspectives.
- Psychology programme, All In The Mind, will now air its encore broadcast on Mondays at 1.30pm. The programme will continue to air on Sundays.
- Travel show, Lost and Found, will move to a special package of seasonal episodes, exploring interesting places around the world.
- The Philosopher's Zone, a weekly programme exploring philosophical issues and ethics, will continue to air on Sunday evenings, but its encore broadcast will now air on Thursdays at 1.30pm.
- RN will also launch What The Duck?!, presented by Dr Ann Jones. Each week, she will discuss an interesting fact about the natural world and unpack it with the help of researchers and scientists.
