Gaven Morris has announced he will be departing his role as Director News, Analysis & Investigations at the ABC. In an internal email to his colleagues, Gaven said he has decided not to pursue a new contract when his current one expires. He will be moving on to other opportunities. 

Gaven started at the ABC as a Reporter in his early 20s, and has worked for the public broadcaster on separate occasions in a variety of roles for almost two decades.

The ABC confirmed it will begin the recruitment process for Gaven's replacement in the coming weeks, during which time he will remain on the ABC Board.
